About
To go on pilgrimage is to embark on a journey that is both physical and spiritual. Pilgrimages help us slow down, disrupt our normal rhythms and ways of operating, and open us up to things we might not be open to in daily life. They provide an opportunity to challenge ourselves beyond what we think we can do. You might think of a pilgrimage as “a retreat on your feet.” This 10-mile trek across San Francisco will provide the opportunity for you and your traveling companion to integrate mind, body, and soul while helping you to slow down, notice exterior and interior movements, and engage in meaningful conversations along the way. All the while, we will be immersed in the rich and varied cityscape of lesser-known San Francisco streets, parks, greenways, and neighborhoods.
Melissa, along with her husband Jamin, will be your guides, offering information about the trail as well as prompts and invitations for conversation and reflection. Together we will explore themes of movement and stillness, experiencing change, and being on the journey.
Participants sign up in pairs. Consider someone you’d like to spend the day with—someone you’d like to get to know or deepen your relationship with. This could be a friend, a spouse, a son or daughter, co-worker; the choice is yours. *Registration deadline in October 9 at 6pm.
