About
Working with art, poetry, and intentional embodiment, explore the contours of limitation and invitation. Through individual reflection and group spiritual direction, we will be discerning how our vulnerability and our limitations can be at work on us. We will be offering opportunities for movement, writing, art making as well as other prompts for contemplative engagement.
Art materials, snacks, and lunch will be provided.
Please bring a journal or other favorite art supplies, a yoga mat and/or favorite movement accoutrements (maybe a hula-hoop?)
Dress comfortably and prepare to be outside, weather permitting. Bring your bathing suit; towels provided.

Retreat Leaders
Julie Barrios– Julie Barrios is the founder of Nuos Formation and specializes as a spiritual director to those seeking to integrate their spiritual pilgrimage with their vocation. She worked for over a decade with entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley, but recently relocated to Southern California. She is a learner and a creative who delights in seeing God’s movement in the complex and absurd.
Sarah McHale - Sarah McHale is a spiritual director, artist and yoga enthusiast. She’s a passionate collage artist and has found new depths of connection with God through creative and contemplative practices. Additionally, she’s the mom of two young men, one of whom is autistic. She works with other parents of neurodivergent youth through facilitation of a support group.
