2 Year Ignatian Spiritual Formation Cohort

The Ignatian Exercises are a series of themed meditations through scripture that are completed over the course of ten months.  They are designed to support our individual journeys with Jesus as we seek to find him in every circumstance of our lives.  This highly regimented series of exercises invites participants to, layer by layer, present the truth of our hearts to God and experience Christ as He really is, living life with us.  In many ways there is nothing new about what is intended in this particular modality of discipleship.  What is, however, unique, is the fine-tuned craftsmanship of a series of spiritual exercises that have been time tested for over 500 years.  Additionally, they are facilitated only by skilled Spiritual Directors with specialization in the exercises. All this to say, this is not discipleship as usual, nor is it anything particularly innovative.  It is effective at ordering our hearts toward Christ, and therefore allowing us to see the world as it actually is.

Starting this September, Nuos Formation will be offering the complete Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola as part of a two year intensive spiritual discipline regiment.  The first year will be spent completing the Exercises in Daily Life (also called the 19th Annotation) accompanied by weekly spiritual direction and a monthly faith cohort.  The second year will be spent guiding another participant in the exercises while under monthly supervision and education in key topics like discernment, developmental spirituality, attachment focussed spirituality, and other relevant topics.

First Year Commitments (Late September-  Early August dates may vary depending on participant)

• 1 hour daily, 5 days/week of Ignatian contemplation (you will be taught how to do this)
• 1 hour weekly spiritual direction with your director 3 weeks/month (scheduled at the convenience of you and your director)
• Monthly 1 hour Faith Share Cohort Meeting one Friday a month from 3:30-4:30pm PT via Zoom.

Second Year Commitments

• 1 hour weekly meeting with one directee, 3 weeks/month
• 2 monthly online meetings, on Wednesdays from 9:30-11am PT
• Assigned Readings from the Ignatian Adventure, Improvisation: The Drama of Christian Ethics, Understanding the Spiritual Exercises

Cost

Total program tuition $5200 paid in 4 payment of $1300 unless otherwise arranged. (Ask about flexible cost for first year of program.)
